From Korea to the Global Greentech Stage
For Watervation, 2023 was a year of growth, testing, and global exploration.
As a young startup, bringing a proud prototype to the world and validating the technology was already an important achievement. But we believed that the next step had to begin early.
While continuing technology validation in Korea, Watervation also began knocking on the door of the global market.
What we found was clear.
Around the world, greentech was no longer a niche conversation. Sustainability, climate industry, carbon neutrality, resource circulation, and low-carbon innovation were becoming central themes for companies, investors, and governments.
This was the right moment to introduce Watervation’s water-based environmental technology to a wider stage.

The global rise of greentech
In 2023, the global market could be described in one phrase: the rise of greentech.
The importance of climate industries and carbon neutrality has been discussed for years, but recent years have shown a much stronger movement toward sustainable industrial growth and practical innovation from high-emission industries.
Global companies are now looking beyond borders, company size, and traditional categories. They are paying attention to startups with technologies that can contribute to sustainability, efficiency, and environmental transition.
Watervation saw this shift not as a distant trend, but as an opportunity.
Our technology was not created only for one product or one market. It was created to help industries rethink how air, water, waste, and emissions can be managed more sustainably.

First steps into Europe
In March, Watervation visited Mobile World Congress in Barcelona as an environmental startup participating through a global expansion program.
MWC was Watervation’s first official overseas business trip. It gave us the opportunity to observe global companies, explore the direction of climate and environmental technology, and understand how European companies were thinking about carbon credits, carbon trading, and practical carbon-neutral strategies.
We also visited Station F in France and Tech City in the United Kingdom, where we were able to confirm the growing interest in Korean environmental technology and startup innovation within Europe.
These visits helped us understand that sustainability is no longer only a message. In Europe, it is becoming part of industrial strategy, investment strategy, and market development.

Learning from Berlin’s startup ecosystem
In August and September, Watervation participated in a global accelerating program in Berlin.
Berlin was an important testing ground for understanding the European startup ecosystem and the market potential of Watervation’s technology.
In Europe, and especially in Germany, sustainability has become one of the most important industrial themes. The country has a strong focus on renewable energy, resource circulation, energy efficiency, and low-carbon growth.
Germany is also actively working to strengthen its startup ecosystem through funding programs, startup support centers, and policies designed to attract global talent.
For Watervation, this was an important opportunity to understand how our technology could fit into a market where sustainability is not only a value, but a strategic priority.

Meeting the global market at IFA
Watervation also participated in IFA Berlin, one of the world’s leading electronics and IT exhibitions, alongside CES in Las Vegas and MWC in Barcelona.
As an exhibitor in the Korean Pavilion supported by KOTRA, KIC Europe, and Korea Venture Investment, Watervation was able to introduce its technology to investors, global companies, and innovation teams.
The goal was not only to present a new technology.
It was to explore partnerships, joint development opportunities, and ways to help existing industries move toward more sustainable growth.
Watervation’s key direction is not simply to create new products. It is to transform existing industrial systems into more environmentally responsible ones.
Many countries are now accelerating green growth and greenhouse gas reduction based on nationally determined contribution goals. In this context, technologies that can reduce environmental waste while lowering energy use are becoming increasingly important.
Watervation’s technology attracted attention because it points toward low-maintenance, low-carbon environmental equipment that can support this transition.


Silicon Valley and the next step
In November, Watervation visited Silicon Valley through a program organized by Korea’s Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry Association.
The program supported promising Korean environmental startups seeking entry into North America and provided opportunities for investment pitching, mentoring, and global networking.
Through IR pitching and promotional booth activities, Watervation was able to meet investors and build follow-up opportunities.
One of the most important steps was the meeting with Plug and Play Tech Center’s sustainability team.
Plug and Play is a Silicon Valley-based startup investment and acceleration platform known for early investments in companies such as PayPal and Dropbox. With more than 20 industry areas and over 500 corporate partners, Plug and Play represents a meaningful gateway for future global collaboration.
For Watervation, this meeting was not only about investment.
It was about understanding how our technology could connect with global partners, industrial needs, and the future of sustainable infrastructure.

More than a manufacturer
The global journey of 2023 helped Watervation clarify its identity.
Watervation is not simply a manufacturer creating another device.
We are an environmental technology company working to apply innovative water-based technology across different fields, helping industries grow more sustainably and contributing to the recovery of a greener planet.
CUE is one expression of this philosophy for everyday spaces.
It brings Watervation’s belief in water-based purification, filter-free thinking, and sustainable air care into the home.
But the vision goes beyond one product.
It is about changing the way we think about clean technology.
Less waste.
Lower burden.
More circulation.
